Moldovan MPs to convene at plenary meeting on July 23; drafts on energy, justice, school infrastructure on agenda

The MPs on July 23 will convene at a plenary meeting, after the parliament’s standing bureau approved the agenda. The legislature’s agenda includes drafts targeting such areas as energy, justice, education, transport and anti–money laundering.

Thus, in first reading, the lawmakers will examine the draft law on ratifying the Financing Contract with the European Investment Bank for the implementation of the project, Rehabilitation and Modernization of Schools in Moldova.

Also in first reading, a draft law will be debated, that provides candidates for the position of judge or prosecutor with the possibility to retake the exam, if they did not get a general average grade of at least 8.

In second reading, MPs are to examine legislative drafts on granting facilities for the installation of electricity storage systems, as well as co-financing rail transport to enhance mobility in certain localities.

The agenda also includes the draft law on strengthening the institutional framework and certification in the field of preventing and combating money laundering and terrorist financing.

At the same time, in second reading, parliamentarians will consider the draft law regulating the operation of the eCall system – the mechanism that allows automatic calls to the single emergency number 112 in the event of a road accident, both on the territory of Moldova and in the European Union member states.

In addition, the parliament is to ratify the Convention on the establishment of the International Claims Commission for Ukraine.
