PM: Elections have shown that when state and citizens defend their country together, people and democracy win
The parliamentary elections on September 28 have shown that when the state and citizens defend their country together, democracy wins and people win. This message was conveyed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, who thanked the citizens for "defending their country through voting".
Dorin Recean mentioned that the Republic of Moldova has shown the whole world that we are a brave, intelligent, and dignified people.
"Dear Moldovans, thank you for the incredible lesson of dignity, courage, and love for the nation. These elections have shown that when the state and citizens defend their country together, democracy wins and people win. Thank you each for defending your country through voting. Not only PAS won - Moldova won, showing the whole world that we are a brave, intelligent, and dignified people. I also thank the state institutions that defended the electoral process and guaranteed the respect of the people's will," said Dorin Recean.
The official mentioned that a lot of work and responsibility will be needed in the future.
"We have a great responsibility and a lot of work ahead: to bring the European Union home, to continue cleaning up the judiciary, to strengthen the state institutions, and to ensure economic development. Moldova has the power to build its own future," concluded Dorin Recean.
In the Republic of Moldova, parliamentary elections were organized on Sunday, September 28. According to preliminary results presented by the Central Electoral Commission, the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) is in the lead with 50.16% of the votes cast. The formation is followed by the Patriotic Bloc, which accumulates 24.26%. In the future Parliament, the Electoral Bloc "Alternative" with 7.97%, Our Party with 6.20%, and the Political Party Democracy at Home with 5.62% will also enter.
