Romania will continue to stand by the Republic of Moldova. The message was conveyed today by President of Romania Nicușor Dan in the context of the results obtained in the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova.
The official extended congratulations to the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and President Maia Sandu 'for the good organization and conduct of the ballot and for the way threats were managed.'
'Congratulations to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for mobilizing and for the firm vote towards continuing your country's European course. You have written a page of history, and we know it was not easy. You have made your voices heard and you should be proud of yourselves. Romania will continue to stand by the Republic of Moldova,' declared Nicușor Dan.
On Sunday, September 28, citizens of the Republic of Moldova elected the deputies of the future Parliament. 1.6 million voters turned out at the polls, which represents approximately 52% of the total citizens registered on the electoral lists.
The preliminary results of the parliamentary elections, after processing 99.91% of the reports, reveal that PAS obtained 50.16% of the votes, the Patriotic Bloc – 24.19%, the 'Alternative' Bloc – 7.97%, Our Party – 6.20%, and PPDA – 5.62%.
