Head of state says Moldovans should look into future with confidence on Easter Holiday

Easter is the holiday that reminds us, that no matter how difficult or long the journey may be, goodness and truth prevail. On this holy day, when we greet each other with Christ is Risen, we should look confidently towards the future, pray for peace, for health, for calm in our homes and in our country, we should be closer to one another, listen to each other, forgive each other, and move together on the path of goodness. President Maia Sandu has made statements to this effect in her conveyed on the occasion of the Holy Easter.

Maia Sandu said that Easter brings us the same lesson every year - that healing comes after suffering and light overcomes darkness. ‘’Each spring, nature tells us without words that life goes on. The trees bloom again, the grass sprouts from the cold earth; everything comes back to life. So does Easter bring us the same lesson every year - that healing comes after suffering and light overcomes darkness,’’ said Maia Sandu in a video message addressed to all citizens.

‘’In a village with gentle hills and hardworking people, the old church in Nișcani stands watch as it has for centuries. Soon, it will be renovated, so that future generations can view it as a place of solace and connection to our roots, remaining a witness to everything: joys, sorrows, departures and returns, just as there are hundreds of churches in the villages and cities of Moldova - a support in difficult times, unyielding landmarks,’’ said Maia Sandu.

The head of state emphasized that Moldova is reviving today. With each step we take towards a fairer, more united country, with each old church preserved, with each family that stays home, with each village that comes to life - we regain hope, said the president.

‘’Easter is the celebration that reminds us that, no matter how difficult or long the journey may be, goodness and truth prevail. On this holy day, when we greet each other with 'Christ is Risen,' we should look confidently towards the future, pray for peace, for health, for calm in our homes and in our country, be closer to one another, listen to each other, forgive each other and move together on the path of goodness. I wish you a Bright Easter, with hearts full of joy around your loved ones. Christ is Risen,’’ concluded Maia Sandu.

Both Orthodox and Catholic Christians celebrate today the Holy Easter, the most important holiday of Christianity, which marks the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, the victory of life over death and the beginning of salvation for all humanity.
