Moldovan Prime Minister: We are close to people. We offer Easter aid to all families with young children and those supporting people with disabilities
Over 230,000 people will receive Easter aid, with a total value of 470 million lei. Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced today that the aid is possible only thanks to the financial package provided by the European Union.
"We are close to people. We offer an Easter aid to all families with young children and those supporting people with disabilities, including those in the diaspora. This is in the context of having gone through a difficult winter. Thus, all children up to 5 years old, from here, but also from diaspora, will receive an Easter aid of 1,500 lei. Children with disabilities and adults with severe disabilities will receive an Easter aid of 5,000 lei. This means about 230,000 beneficiaries of this Easter aid. This was made possible due to the aid and free funding from the European Union. It is important to mention this to understand who the true friends are and where prosperity comes from," Recean said.
The Prime Minister requested that Minister Alexei Buzu ensure the aid is transferred as soon as possible.
Speaker Igor Grosu and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu announced this morning an Easter aid for about 230,000 families. Families with children under five years, including those in the diaspora will receive 1,500 lei each, while children with disabilities and people with severe disabilities will receive 5,000 lei each. Funds will be directed to the beneficiaries' cards or can be collected from the post office starting from May 2.
The Easter aid was set out in Budget Plus project, which includes financial resources totaling 8 billion lei, being the largest financial package ever allocated by the Government of the Republic of Moldova for investment and economic growth.
