Twelve books by Moldovan authors to be translated in seven countries

The Ministry of Culture announces an absolute premiere for Moldova on World Book and Copyright Day, annually marked on April 23: 12 books by nine authors will be published in several foreign languages.

Thus, in Serbia, the volume "Massacre in Georgia" by Dumitru Crudu will be released at Prometej Publishing House. Greece will host the book "Before Brezhnev Died" by Iulian Ciocan, which will be published by World Books.

Germany stands out with the most selected titles, set to edit four works: "Precarious Journal" by Tamara Cărăuș at Frank & Timme GmbH, "The Queen of Hearts" by Iulian Ciocan at Edition Noack & Block, "Bound with a Rope to the Earth" by Lorina Bălteanu and "Five and Seven Minutes" by Dumitru Crudu, both at KLAK Verlag.

In Albania, readers will be able to discover "Ladybug" by Liliana Corobca, published by OMBRA GVG Publishing House. In North Macedonia, two titles will appear: "The End of the Road" by Liliana Corobca, edited by Antolog Books, and "Montana" by Alexandru Popescu, at Makedonika Litera.

Bulgaria will publish the volumes "Brezhnev's Masks" by Nicolae Spătaru and "The Eastern Mystery" by Lucreția Bârlădeanu at IK Persey EOOD.

At the same time, in the United States, the novel "The Summer When My Mother Had Green Eyes" by Tatiana Țîbuleac will be launched, translated by Deep Vellum publisher.

The Ministry of Culture aims, through this programme, to support local authors, promote culture and make history in translated pages.
