Moldova's Diaspora Relations Bureau says three days left to submit projects for DAR 1+3 Programme, 2025 edition

The Diaspora Relations Bureau of the State Chancellery announces that there are only three days left till the finishing of the submission period for the funding projects under the Diaspora at Home Succeeds DAR 1+3 Programme, 2025 edition. Local public authorities of the first level are invited to apply in partnership with the diaspora and other development actors for projects that contribute to the development of local communities, reports MOLDPRES.

Applications can be submitted during March 11-April 13, 2025, at 11:59 PM by   email to brd@gov.md, with the note "funding application for the DAR 1+3 Program from the _______ mayoralty".

Eligible fields include infrastructure, environmental protection, local economic development, energy efficiency, culture, education, as well as social protection and inclusion. In-kind contributions (materials or objects) on behalf of partners are  o accepted too.

The projects’ selection will be carried out by a specialized committee, and the list of accepted projects will be approved by Government Decision. Evaluation criteria include project relevance, Diaspora’s involvement, clarity of the proposal, previous experience of the local authority and the social and economic impact of the initiative.

The DAR 1+3 Programme aims to attract human and financial capital from the Diaspora, strengthen relations with the native settlements and stimulate the social economic development locally. Starting from 2025, the government's contribution for each selected project has been increased to 350,000 lei, while the total budget of a project cannot be less than 400,000 lei.

Funding is provided based on the "1+3" formula, which involves the engagement of four actors: the government of Moldova, local public authorities, development partners and Diaspora representatives.
