Ten fire stations from Moldova to be renovated with EU support

Ten territorial and volunteer fire stations will be renovated with financial support from the European Union. The actions are carried out under the project, EU4Moldova Resilient: Safe State, Strong Communities.

Each selected settlement will be able to access funds worth up to 418,000 lei, thus contributing to the modernization of intervention infrastructure and improving working conditions for rescue teams.

The beneficiary localities are: Mereni (Anenii Noi), Sireti (Straseni), Larga (Briceni), Scoreni (Straseni), Razeni (Ialoveni), Suhuluceni (Telenesti), Carpineni (Hancesti), Tomai (UTA Gagauzia), Lalova (Rezina) and Geamana (Anenii Noi). They were selected following a grant call launched by the Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova in December 2024.

The renovation work will include the improvement of the present infrastructure, such as ceiling, flooring, ventilation and insulation repairs, as well as the modernization of sanitary facilities or rest areas. These interventions will optimize working conditions for firefighters, providing them with a safer, more comfortable and better-equipped environment for daily activities.

At the same time, under the EU4Moldova Resilient: Safe State, Strong Communities project, 35 fire stations will be endowed with modern intervention equipment and advanced communication systems, which will contribute to increasing the professional level of preparedness of firefighters, including volunteers. Through this investment, training conditions, quick response and intervention coordination will be significantly improved.

By the end of implementation, the national network of territorial and volunteer fire stations will be expanded from 25 to 35 units, enhancing Moldova's capacity for quick emergency response, especially in rural areas.

Renovation work is expected to be completed in September 2025. The total budget for this grant call is up to 4.2 million lei.

The EU4Moldova Resilient: Safe State, Strong Communities project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova. The initiative aims to strengthen Moldova's resilience against security challenges and support local communities in building a safer future.
