A photography exhibition showing the events of April 7, 2009, is organized at the parliament’s headquarters. The exhibition contains a selection of photographs from the personal archive of photojournalist Andrei Mardari, as well as from the National Archives Agency, with pictures captured by photojournalists Valeriu Corcimari and Mihai Vengher.
The authors of the photographs succeeded in capturing moments that reconstruct the events of April 7, 2009, when tens of thousands of people took to streets to protest, discontented with the results of the parliamentary elections. During the protests on April 7, 2009, the buildings of Parliament and the Presidency were devastated.
The exhibition, which symbolically marks 16 years since the events of April 7, 2009, can be visited at the Parliament till April 11, this year.
On April 7, 2009, a large-scale, devastating protest took place in Chisinau, followed by reprisals.
