Unidentified drone flew over airspace of Moldova
An unidentified drone entered the airspace of the Republic of Moldova on the morning of August 24 from the direction of Ukraine and left the national territory toward Romania, after flying for approximately 14 minutes, in the context of the air attacks carried out last night by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the airspace monitoring systems detected the drone at 05:55, as it crossed the state border from the direction of the locality of Vinogradovka, Odesa region, toward the city of Vulcănești, Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.
At 06:09, the device was identified as it was leaving the national airspace from the direction of the locality of Pașcani, Cahul district, toward Romania, near the locality of Vădești, Vrancea county.
For the safety of the population, the airspace in the southern part of the country was restricted for 15 minutes, after which it was reopened.
The Ministry of Defense specifies that the unauthorized overflight took place following the air attacks launched during the night by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
