UPDATE // Traffic eased at Otaci border customs post
UPATE 19:02 Traffic at Otaci border customs post has been eased, and operations are currently proceeding under normal conditions, the customs authorities report. To reduce waiting times, cross-border travelers are encouraged to check in advance the situation at border customs posts and, if their route allows, to choose alternative routes.
Initial report: Travelers planning to leave the Republic of Moldova through Otaci–Mohyliv-Podilskyi border customs post are warned that, at this time, there is heavy traffic of people and vehicles.
According to the authorities, the outbound direction from the country is particularly crowded. To streamline cross-border traffic, the control authorities have implemented additional measures, and operations are being carried out at full capacity.
Cross-border travelers are urged to take the current situation into account and, if possible, to choose in advance the Ocnița–Sokyryany or Unguri–Bronnytsia border crossing points.
The authorities recommend that travelers show understanding and follow the instructions given by the control staff.
