Singer Natalia Gordienko to represent Moldova at Eurovision Song Contest 2020
Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - Singer Natalia Gordienko on 29 February evening was declared winner of the National Final with the song titled, Prison, and will represent Moldova at the European Song Contest-2020. Nineteen singers participated in the final of the National Contest for Eurovision.
In the ranking , Natalia Gordienko was followed by Pasha Parfeni, Dianna Rotaru, Lavinia Rusu, Lanjeron, Catarina Sandu, Valeriu Pasa, etc.
According to composer, jury member Anatol Chiriac, the singers were good and were not too much detached from each other. ‘’According to me, Pasha Parfeni was the most representative one. His song was more viable and more specific to the contest. Nevertheless, the way one promotes his/her song before the contest matters. Thus, the jury and the tele-voting backed Natalia Gordienko. Her song had a greater impact on the public. I am happy that the musical market is in a continuous development,’’ Anatol Chiriac said.
Natalia Gordienko will participate in the second semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest-2020, due to be held in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) on 14 May. Moldova’s representative will compete with singers from Austria, Denmark, Bulgaria, Poland, Switzerland, Finland, Armenia, San Marino, Latvia, Serbia, Iceland, Georgia, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Greece, Albania and Estonia.
In 2006, Natalia Gordienko with Arsenium and Conect R represented Moldova with the song titled Loca at the Eurovision Contest held in Athens, Greece, and ranked 20th.
