Goods exports increased by 6.4 percent in 2025

Moldova's exports of goods increased by 6.4 percent last year compared to 2024, reaching a total of 3.78 billion dollars. The European Union remains the main market for Moldovan products, accounting for 67.5% of total exports. The National Statistics Bureau unveiled the data.

According to the BNS, exports of goods to European Union countries in 2025 totaled 2,554.4 million dollars, up by 6.8% compared to 2024. On the other hand, exports of goods to CIS countries in 2025 amounted to 224.2 million dollars, 7.2% less than in 2024, which corresponds to a share of 5.9% in total exports.

In 2025, the main destination countries for Moldovan exports were Romania, Turkey, Italy, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, the Russian Federation, Greece, Belarus, the Netherlands, France, and the United States of America, which together accounted for 86.1% of total exports.

In the structure of exports in 2025, significant shares were held by the following groups of goods: oil seeds and oleaginous fruits; electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; vegetables and fruits; cereals and cereal preparations; clothing and accessories; alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; furniture and its parts; vegetable fats and oils.

At the same time, in 2025 compared to 2024, imports of goods increased by 20.5%.

The trade balance deficit recorded an increase of 29.6% compared to 2024, reaching 7,138.9 million dollars.
