
Moldovan government, European Union provide grants to 75 companies from Moldova
The government of Moldova and the European Union, through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), have allocated 26.3 million lei to 75 local companies, generating investments of over 51.3 million lei. The grants are for digital transformation, supporting women’s entrepreneurship and energy efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The digital transformation programme will support 46 companies with 12.3 million lei, and the women’s entrepreneurship support programme will provide 5.7 million lei to 16 companies. At the same time, 8 companies will benefit from 5.8 million lei for revamping.
Also, five companies will develop their businesses through the remittances attraction programme PARE 1+2, benefiting from a non-reimbursable financial support totaling 2.4 million lei. This funding will generate investments in the economy of almost 5 million lei.
Sixty five out of 75 companies benefiting from grants are financed by the government of Moldova with 23 million lei and 10 companies receive financial support from the European Union, totaling 3.3 million lei.
At the event on the launch of the financing programmes, officials emphasized the importance of support for entrepreneurs. Eugen Harabara, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization, emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs who contribute to the country’s economic development.
“The support of the government is a firm commitment to support every entrepreneur and every business contributing to the country's economic development, in overcoming obstacles. Moldova needs more courageous entrepreneurs who think long-term and are motivated to actively contribute to the positive change of their community, thus strengthening the national economy. I encourage you to show the same perseverance and dedication. Every step you take contributes to the change we all want and your success is the success of the entire country.”
Miroslav Bozic, program officer at the European Union Delegation to Moldova, highlighted the importance of the partnership with Moldovan authorities for economic development.
“Support for entrepreneurship and sustainable development of SMEs is a core component of our partnership with Moldova. We are pleased to recognize the consistent growth in the number of quality applications for national SME programmes supported by the EU and the increase in the number of commercial companies benefiting from these programmess. EU will continue to support SMEs as a major driving force for a stronger Moldovan economy, which is also an important pillar of the Economic Growth Plan for Moldova, recently proposed by the EU” said Miroslav Bozic, programme officer at the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova.
Vadim Codreanu, director of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, highlighted the impact of these finances on the entrepreneurial environment:
“We are grateful for the considerable support provided by the government of Moldova, the European Union and the World Bank Group, which contributes with a significant financial support to the implementation of all programmes managed by ODA. In this context, I would like to emphasize the importance of the Competitiveness Growth Programme for local producers and their integration into value chains, a recently launched programme, offering significant opportunities for business development. I encourage you to apply to all active programmes, including this one! Each company will be able to access up to 2 million lei through this programme.”
Since the beginning of 2025, ODA has registered 136 companies which got grants totaling 69.3 million lei; this support will generate investments worth 147.6 million lei in the economy.
