Parliament speaker says Moldova ready for EU accession, clusters' openings - soon
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today welcomed the conclusions of the European Commission's Annual Enlargement Report. The document shows that Moldova has met the necessary conditions for opening three negotiation clusters, namely: 'accession fundamentals', 'external relations', and 'internal market.'.
‘’Good news from Brussels. Moldova has made significant progress on the path to accession and has met the necessary conditions for clusters’ openings. Thank you, dear friends, for the support and for the recognition of the hard work of Moldovans. Together with my colleagues from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), we have received a clear mandate - to prepare the country for accession to the European Union,’’ Grosu said.
The European Commission's report is part of the 2025 Enlargement Package and evaluates the progress made by the countries candidates for accession. The document notes that Moldova has made the most visible progress in the integration process, which might allow for the opening of the next negotiation clusters by the end of this year.
