Over 500 artists from Moldova gathered in Parliament square and sang about homeland, nation and national values

More than 500 artists from across the country, winners of the 2026 edition of the national patriotic music festival and competition “I Sing to You, Homeland and Nation,” gathered in Parliament Square and delivered an exceptional performance. Together, they sang about the homeland, the nation, and the national values that unite us. The event was part of a series of activities organized by the legislative institution in the context of the International Day of Democracy.

This year’s gala was held under the theme “Unity through Culture” and brought together choirs, ethnofolkloric and vocal ensembles, groups, and soloists of different ages. The participants performed patriotic songs and pieces inspired by national traditions and values, accompanied by the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, conducted by Andriano Marian.

“What you are doing is extraordinary. I listened to the songs and, each time, I felt a sense of pride, responsibility, and patriotism conveyed through these voices and talents. As long as we are able to organize such events, our nation will endure,” said Speaker Igor Grosu.

The gala recognized winners in several categories, including folk and pop music soloists, choirs, ethnofolkloric ensembles, and vocal ensembles. The Festival’s Grand Prize went to Sofia Apareci for her performance of the song “Three Colors,” music by Ion Aldea-Teodorovici and lyrics by Grigore Vieru.

The gala concluded with a joint musical performance, during which the artists and the audience sang the song “Take Me to My Moldova,” accompanied by the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, conducted by Andriano Marian.

It is part of the national Access to Culture program, funded by the Ministry of Culture. It included several stages, with artists selected following concerts held in Soroca, Comrat, Bălți, Orhei, and Ialoveni, while the regional stages culminated in the laureates’ gala at Parliament.

Throughout September, Parliament is organizing activities dedicated to democracy and participation, aimed at encouraging dialogue, civic engagement, and closer relations between citizens and the institution.
