Moldovan head of state meets former president of Poland

President Maia Sandu has received in Chișinău Aleksander Kwaśniewski, former President of Poland (1995–2005), currently President of the Commission on Drug Policy for Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, a regional organization dedicated to promoting modern policies in this field.

The discussions focused on drug trafficking, in the context of the escalation of cross-border crime faced by Moldova. The interlocutors advocated for closer regional cooperation, that would combine firm security measures with effective public health policies.

The two officials also addressed the regional security situation.
