Paid public service internship programme launched at Alecu Russo State University of Balti; Moldovan PM says programme connects education with practical experience in public service
The joint internship programme of the Moldova’s government and the European Union was launched at Alecu Russo State University in the city of Balti today. At the edition 6.1, 146 internship positions are available in 48 public authorities, and young people will receive a non-taxable monthly scholarship of 3,500 lei.
Present at the event, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu emphasized the role of education in building the future of Moldova and the importance of connecting the educational process with practical activities in public institutions. The PM noted that the internship programme gives young people possibility to better understand how the state works, to develop their skills and to discover the areas in which they can contribute to the development of Moldova.
At the same time, the prime minister encouraged students to invest continuously in their own development, to remain open to opportunities and to confidently embrace the changes brought by an increasingly dynamic world, including new technologies. “Every young person has a talent that must be discovered and nurtured. Study, invest in yourselves and you will succeed,” said the PM.
During the discussions, students learned about the eligibility conditions and the opportunities provided by the paid internships in the public service. The programme allows interns to gain practical experience and become directly involved in the work of institutions.
The internships take place at the secretariat of Moldova’s parliament, the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova, the State Chancellery, the ministries and the administrative authorities subordinated to them, the central administrative authorities subordinated to the Government and the autonomous public authorities. Candidates may submit their application form simultaneously to up to five host authorities.
