Disinformation alert: Fake document attributed to President spreading online
The Presidency of the Republic of Moldova describes a document circulating in the public space as fake, which had been attributed to the head of state. The information was confirmed by spokesperson of the Presidency Igor Zaharov.
“The document is a falsehood. Such a document never reached the desk of the President of the Republic of Moldova, much less was it signed by her. It is a new attempt at manipulation, meant to mislead public opinion,” wrote Zaharov.
According to the representative of the presidential institution, all decrees signed by the president are transparently published on the official website of the Presidency and in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova.
The authorities urge citizens to seek information only from official sources.
