
Moldovan parliament speaker says signing of EU accession treaty by 2028 Moldova's national goal
The head of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Igor Grosu, has announced the party's major political goal for the next four years: the signing of treaty of Moldova’s accession to the European Union by 2028, before the end of President Maia Sandu’s second term.
The speaker made statements to this effect at the PAS annual conference titled, United for European Moldova. At the event, the party’s leader referred to the government's achievements and priorities for the coming years.
"We have brought Moldova to a new level. In four years of mandate, we have maintained peace and freedom, taken care of people, and looked after localities. Now, we aim to strengthen this European path with clear and ambitious goals for the whole country," Igor Grosu said.
The PAS leader presented the governing party's achievements over the past four years:
- Almost four billion lei invested in healthcare
- Almost three billion lei in villages and cities
- Over 760 km of roads repaired
- Over 940 km of modernized water supply networks
Five key PAS goals for the next four years:
- Signing the EU accession treaty by 2028
- Doubling the income of the active population (including in the private sector, education, healthcare and public order)
- Doubling the exports of Moldovan goods and services on international markets
- Rehabilitation of 3,000 km of national and regional roads by 2029
- Launching a national programme to promote Moldovan culture and traditions, including in the Diaspora
"We will not stop, nor do we have the right to stop. Together, we care for Moldova's future and its people," added Igor Grosu. He reaffirmed the PAS’ political commitment to modernizing the country and integrating into the European Union.
