Moldovan parliament convenes at plenary meeting on February 12; standing bureau approves drafts included on agenda

The parliament will convene at a plenary meeting on February 12. The standing bureau today approved the agenda of the plenary meetings for February 12-20, 2026.

During this period, MPs will examine, in first reading, the draft law amending the Education Code, as well as legislative initiatives regarding reforms of the authorities subordinated to the Environment Ministry and the costs of judicial expertise.

The draft law on the ratification of a decision of the Joint Committee established under the Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and Turkey will also be discussed. The agenda also includes the EU‑labelled draft concerning the transformation of the farms’ accountancy data network into a network on agricultural sustainability, along with other interventions in normative acts in the  agriculture sector.

In final reading, the MPs will examine the draft law on mediation and the status of the mediator, as well as the draft law on the prevention and combating of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse committed against children.

The members of the standing bureau also decided that the simple motion on state policy in the field of energy, energy security in relation to the need to protect consumers and ensure tariffs’ stability, submitted by a group of MPs from the Our Party, Alternative and Democracy at Home factions, will be examined at the plenary meeting due February 19.
