Moldovan parliament speaker meets President of European Economic and Social Committee; stages of EU accession process on discussions' agenda

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today had a meeting with President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) Séamus Boland, on an official visit to Moldova.

The discussions focused on the country’s European path, the stages of the European Union accession process and the importance of ensuring transparency in the decision-making process.

During the meeting, Igor Grosu emphasized the essential role of the civil society. He praised the high level of involvement and professionalism of organizations from Moldova, which actively contribute to the reform process and to bringing the country closer to European standards.

The speaker also reiterated that accession to the European Union stayed the main national priority and that  the parliament was firmly committed to continuing reforms and seizing this opportunity.
