Moldovan parliament speaker says first Moldova-EU Summit confirms country on right path
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, before the beginning of the Moldova-EU summit, has said that this historic event confirmed that the country was on the right path.
“Today, Moldova is on the right path. We have chosen to be free and independent. We have chosen to be part of the world of peace and the European family,” said Igor Grosu.
The speaker emphasized that the organization of the summit was a confirmation of Moldova’s progress in strengthening institutions and democracy, as well as of the international support the country benefits from.
“We have friends and we have support. Together, with reliable friends, we are building a stronger, safer and more European Moldova. Europe knows that #MoldovaCan,” stressed Grosu.
The event, which takes place in Chisinau today, brings together high-ranking officials from EU member states and represents a clear political signal to support the continuation of reforms and the acceleration of Moldova's European integration way.
