Parliament convenes in plenary session on Thursday
Parliament will convene on July 2 in a plenary session. Parliament Standing Bureau approved today’s agenda, which includes several draft laws aimed at citizen security, child protection, crime prevention and international cooperation in the field of justice.
Members of Parliament will examine, in second reading, the draft law on extending the automatic exchange of information on several categories of financial accounts with other states.
The agenda of the sitting also includes a number of legislative initiatives submitted for examination in first reading. Among them are the draft law regulating the automatic calling system for the single emergency number 112 in the event of road accidents, as well as the initiative to strengthen the child protection system against violence, neglect and exploitation.
In addition, MPs will debate draft laws aimed at optimizing procedural enforcement mechanisms and preventing evasion from serving sentences, preventing phone scams and fraud through electronic communications, as well as strengthening the legal framework for preventing and combating human trafficking and protecting its victims.
Also in first reading, the draft law on strengthening the protection mechanism in the area of whistleblowing on integrity issues will be examined.
The agenda also includes the draft law on the ratification of the Second Additional Protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime, which aims to strengthen international cooperation and facilitate the disclosure of electronic evidence in criminal investigations.
During the sitting, MPs are also to re-examine the draft laws on public institutions and the related regulatory framework.
