VIDEO // Official documents issued in Moldova, Germany to be recognized more easily
Official documents issued in Moldova and Germany will be recognized more easily and more quickly in both countries. The provision has been applied since July 17, 2026. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi has made statements to this effect.
According to the official, all documents that until now have been subject to the legalization procedure will be able to be used on the territory of Moldova and Germany only with the application of the apostille by the competent authority.
“In Moldova, the competent authority is the Justice Ministry. The new procedure will allow our citizens to save time and money. I thank the German state for this decision. It is an important step in strengthening cooperation between our countries,” said Mihai Popsoi.
The simplification of the procedure aims to facilitate the recognition of documents required for studies, employment, economic activities or other administrative procedures, contributing to the strengthening of relations between Moldova and Germany and to supporting citizens’ mobility.
