Parliament to organize Open Doors Day to celebrate 34 years of activity

Parliament will open its doors to all citizens on the 34th anniversary. Visitors will have the opportunity to talk to MPs, discover the halls where the most important decisions are made, and enhance their knowledge about democracy and parliamentarism. Open Doors Day will be held on 23 May starting at 1:00 PM.

The event program includes interactive activities for all age groups. A dedicated space for children will be set up, where young visitors can draw, arrange puzzles, and learn intriguing facts about the Parliament by solving crosswords. A face painting session will also be organized for them.

Visitors of all ages can participate in a bag decorating workshop.

Guided tours inside the Parliament building will be organized for visitors, with MPs and officials serving as guides. The route includes the Parliament Museum, the plenary session hall, the Europe Hall, and other rooms where legislative meetings occur.

On Open Doors Day, three thematic exhibitions will be arranged.

Visitors are invited to bring a book for children or teenagers, thus joining Donate a Book campaign. The books will be donated to beneficiaries of Diaconia Social Mission centers on International Children's Day.

A photo area will also be set up in the Parliament's square.

Visitor access will be based on an identity card, without prior appointment. Children do not need identity documents but must be accompanied by an adult.
