Moldovan PM meets President of Ukraine

The deepening of cooperation between Moldova and Ukraine has been discussed at a meeting of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The PM is on his first official visit to Kyiv.

"Moldova and Ukraine want the same thing: a sky above our heads that we look to with hope for the future, not with fear. We want to build a world in which our children live in freedom, and we are reliable partners on this path, united not only by a common border, but also by democratic values and the European aspiration. I discussed with the President of Ukraine ways to make the most of the close ties between our countries," Munteanu said.

President Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of joint projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure and railway transport and thanked Moldova for its support to Ukraine.

"We have a common vision of the future within the European Union and the path of Ukraine and Moldova towards the EU must be a shared one, so that everyone in our region can benefit from the strengthening of our peoples and of Europe as a whole," the Ukrainian president wrote.

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, on an official visit to Kyiv today, made joint statements with his Ukrainian counterpart, Yuliia Svyrydenko.
