
Runoff local elections to be held in four localities of Moldova
Runoff local elections will take place in four localities across the country. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced today that the runoff local elections for the position of mayor will be held on June 1, 2025, in the commune of Boldurești, Nisporeni district, in the village of Tabani, Briceni district, in the commune of Chiperceni, Orhei district, and in the village of Talmaza, Ștefan Vodă district.
According to the CEC, following the results of the new local elections on May 18, 2025, no candidate for the position of mayor in these localities received more than half of the votes. The two candidates will be listed on the ballot paper in descending order of the number of valid votes obtained in the first round of voting.
Voting in the runoff elections will be conducted based on the same electoral lists used in the first round and under the conditions of the Instruction on the peculiarities of exercising the right to vote in local elections.
The maximum ceiling of financial resources that can be transferred or used in the electoral campaign related to the second round of new local elections in the electoral constituency will not exceed the ceiling set by the Commission's decision, which includes the expenses already reported for the first round.
