School aid for children: Parliament to vote on state budget amendment
At the initiative of the PAS faction, the MPs are set to vote this week on a budget amendment that provides for a financial aid of 1,000 lei for each student from grades I to IX. Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement today.
The aid will be distributed on September 2-5, 2025, and will cover about 295,000 students enrolled in primary and secondary educational institutions in the country, whether public or private, regardless of the child's citizenship.
“Care for families has always been a priority for the PAS government. We have worked for every family to feel protected and supported by the state. This measure is intended to ease the school year's start expenses and to provide direct support to parents,” Grosu said.
He said that the financial support will be provided automatically, without the need to submit applications, through the National Social Insurance House, based on data provided by the Ministry of Education.
