DOC // Official public competition opened for position of TRM director general

The Supervisory Board of the public company "Teleradio-Moldova" (TRM) has announced the launch of the competition for the position of Director General. The announcement was published in the Official Journal. Thus, candidates may submit their application files either on paper, at the headquarters of the "Teleradio-Moldova" Company, or in digital format with an electronic signature, by July 10.

According to the document published in the Official Journal, the competition will be carried out in accordance with the Regulation on the procedure for organizing and conducting the selection process for the position of Director General, approved by the decision of the Supervisory Board.

Persons eligible to apply for this position must hold a university degree in journalism and communication, law, public administration, management, or another relevant field, have Moldovan citizenship, and at least five years of managerial experience. Candidates must also have knowledge of the Romanian language and an international language of circulation (English or French, minimum level B1), have no unexpunged criminal record, enjoy an irreproachable reputation, and must not have been members of a political party or politically affiliated in the last two years. In addition, persons deprived of the right to hold public office or those definitively convicted for corruption offenses may not apply.

The position of TRM Director General is carried out for a seven-year term, which cannot be renewed. The position of Director General of the public television broadcaster became vacant following the resignation of Vlad Țurcanu, triggered by a wave of criticism regarding the scores awarded by the national jury at the Eurovision Song Contest. He is currently serving as acting head of the institution.
