International Nurses Day celebrated in Moldova
International Nurses Day is celebrated today worldwide. Over 18,900 nurses are operating in Moldova's healthcare system.
According to the Ministry of Health, this day represents an opportunity to recognize and appreciate dedication, professionalism and essential contribution that nurses have in patient care and maintaining public health.
"The Ministry of Health sends congratulations to all nurses in the Republic of Moldova, expressing profound gratitude for the devotion, empathy, and tireless work you carry out every day in all localities across the country. You are the heart of the medical system, the reliable support for doctors, and closest to patients, offering not only treatment but also comfort, hope, and confidence," the institution emphasized.
In recent decades, the nursing profession has undergone significant transformation. Developments in research, digitalization, advanced medical technologies, and increasingly demanding international standards have required complex and continuous training.
"In this context, the role of the nurse has become increasingly important – not just as an executor but as a professional with extensive skills, capable of responding to an increasingly diverse and challenging range of medical situations," mentioned the Ministry of Health.
International Nurses Day has been celebrated in the Republic of Moldova since 1994, by decision of the Ministry of Health, as a sign of respect and appreciation for the noble profession.
