Japan provides grant of over 50,000 dollars to modernize Anenii Noi Health Center
The Government of Japan will support the modernization of Anenii Noi Health Center through a grant worth 50,980 US dollars, for the purchase of a video endoscopy system to improve the quality of medical services.
The grant contract was signed on 22 January by Ambassador of Japan Takeuchi Kazuyuki and director of IMSP CS Anenii Noi Ina Gurschii.
According to the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova, the equipment will enable the provision of safer and faster medical services. The medical institution serves not only residents of Anenii Noi district, but also patients from the Transnistrian region, as well as refugees from Ukraine.
Ambassador Takeuchi welcomed the project and expressed his appreciation for the medical staff for continuing their activity under difficult conditions.
"The Government of Japan has long been a partner of Moldova in the health sector. In this turbulent time, we wish to work together with the people of Moldova as a partner that shares the same values," the diplomat stated.
Kusanone program has been implemented in the Republic of Moldova since 2008. To date, Japan has provided a total of 7.7 million US dollars in non-reimbursable funding for 93 projects in health, education and public utilities.
