Moldovan government creates modern training system for civil servants, to develop well-trained, resilient, European-level public administration
The government is creating a modern professional development system that will prepare a generation of European-level civil servants – 2,000 employees from central and local public authorities will benefit from training at 25 topic-related areas, in order to improve their professional skills.
The professional training and development plan for staff in public authorities for 2026 has been approved by the government.
Moldova is quickly advancing on the path of European integration, and to succeed it is necessary to increase administrative capacity and develop a generation of civil servants trained to European standards, so that state institutions operate efficiently and citizens benefit from better, more transparent public services that are closer to their needs.
The training modules cover such areas as strategic planning, cyber security, communication in public administration, the development, monitoring and evaluation of public policies locally, as well as public assets’ management.
The plan also includes 3 specialized training programmes and 22 professional development courses, differentiated according to the specifics and needs of staff. In total, 3,000 hours of training are planned and staff development will be provided by the National Institute of Public Administration and Management.
