Moldovan driving licenses to be recognized in Ireland

Moldova and Ireland have signed an agreement on the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses. The document was signed during the official visit to Dublin by President Maia Sandu.

According to the agreement, Moldovan citizens residing in Ireland will be able to exchange their driving licenses without taking theoretical and practical exams. The same facilities will be provided to Irish citizens residing in Moldova.

The agreement was signed by Ambassador of Moldova to Ireland Jana Costachi and by Ireland’s Minister of State for Transport, Sean Canney, together with the representative of the Road Safety Authority, Alison Coleman.

The competent authorities note that this arrangement will facilitate the mobility of citizens and simplify administrative procedures, while also contributing to strengthening the bilateral relations between the two states.
