National Army sappers carried out demining missions in Orhei, Chișinău and Cimișlia, where munitions remaining from the World War II were discovered and neutralized.

According to the Ministry of Defence, on 11 April, the demining team from Codru Battalion, led by Major Mihail Josan, was called to the outskirts of Trebujeni village, Orhei district, where residents had discovered an 82 mm mortar shell.

On the same day, the team intervened in the municipality of Chișinău, at 2 Ivan Zaikin Street, where the metallic body of a 76 mm artillery shell was identified.

Additionally, sappers from Dacia Motorized Infantry Brigade, under the command of Captain Aliona Bezman, intervened in the locality of Gura Galbenei, Cimișlia district, where a 76 mm artillery shell was discovered in a household.

The explosive objects were destroyed under maximum safety conditions.

In the context of intensified spring agricultural works, when such munitions are frequently discovered, the sappers urge the population to strictly follow safety rules. Thus, if such objects are found, immediately notify the 112 Service or local public authorities. It is important not to touch the munitions with your hands or other objects, and not to strike or move them. Do not disassemble fuzes or other components and do not throw explosive objects into fire.
