PHOTO // Speaker meets Moldovans in Austria

Our fellow Moldovans, regardless of the distance, remain connected to everything happening at home and believe in a better future for our country. This message was conveyed by Speaker Igor Grosu, following a meeting with representatives of the Moldovan community settled in Vienna, Austria.

According to the official, the main topic discussed was our country’s European integration process.

“ I began my official visit to Austria with a heartfelt meeting with Moldovans living in Vienna. It was a sincere discussion that reconfirmed to me how united and strong our community is. I was glad to see people who are well integrated and appreciated here, who, through their work, contribute to the development of both Austria and the Republic of Moldova. We talked about what is happening at home – about the European path, the steps we are taking towards EU accession, as well as about justice and the efforts to make it fairer and more credible,” said Grosu.

Grosu is paying an official visit to Austria on 19 - 21 April this year, at the invitation of his counterpart, the President of the National Council of the Republic of Austria, Walter Rosenkrantz.

In Vienna, the official will hold meetings with the leadership of the Austrian Legislature – the presidents of the two chambers, Walter Rosenkrantz and Markus Stotter – as well as with members of the Austria–Republic of Moldova parliamentary friendship group. The discussion agenda will include strengthening Moldovan–Austrian relations, deepening parliamentary dialogue and Austria’s support for the European course of the Republic of Moldova.

The visit agenda also includes trips outside the capital, among them a visit to the Agricultural Vocational School in Krems and talks with the leadership of the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems.

This is the first official visit of Speaker Igor Grosu to Austria this year.
