Cabinet members observed a minute of silence today at the beginning of the Government meeting, in memory of maestro Gheorghe Urschi, who is being laid to rest today.
Wednesday, April 15, was declared a national day of mourning by decree of President Maia Sandu.
One of the most emblematic figures of national culture, maestro Gheorghe Urschi passed away on Monday, April 13, at the age of 78. People’s Artist, laureate of the National Prize and Knight of the Order of the Republic, honorary citizen of the municipality of Chișinău, the “king of humor” leaves behind an inestimable artistic legacy and a huge void in the hearts of those who admired him over the decades.
