President about Memorial Easter: Let us turn our thoughts to those who gave meaning to our path and who remain part of us through all that they left us
On Memorial Easter, we grant ourselves a moment to return to what truly matters: our roots, our family, and the invisible thread that binds generations together. This message was conveyed today by President Maia Sandu, who urged citizens to reflect on the fundamental values that define us.
The official emphasized the importance of these days, when our thoughts turn to those who remain present in our lives through the legacy they have left behind.
“Let us, in these days, turn our thoughts to those who gave meaning to our path and who remain part of us through all that they left us. And may we find, in the moments spent with our loved ones, in calm and gratitude, the reconciliation we need and the strength to move forward,” said Maia Sandu.
Today, Orthodox Christians celebrate Memorial Easter, a day dedicated to commemorating the departed. On Memorial Easter, believers visit the graves of their loved ones, bring flowers, and priests perform memorial services, after which relatives offer alms for the souls of the deceased.
