Number of journeys on inter-city routes increases in Moldova on Easter Holidays' period
Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - The number of journeys on the inter-city routes has been increased on the Easter Holidays’ period, given the rise in the number of passengers. Thus, on 26-27 April, more mini-buses and buses will set out from Chisinau to Moldova’s settlements, in order to carry passengers choosing to mark the Easter Holidays along with their relatives.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the deputy director of the Chisinau-based North Bus Terminal, Ion Andrusca, said that about 150-180 additional journeys would be operated on 26 and 27 April. The needed transport means have been already prepared for this. Andrusca also said that, given the experience of the last years, the number of passengers increases by 25-30 per cent on the eve of Easter.
The head of the South-West Bus Terminal branch from Chisinau, Iurie Chirila, said that the institution had additional buses and mini-buses standing at the bus terminal and which are used, depending on needs, on the routes where the number of passengers is larger. Leova, Vulcanesti and Bujor are among the settlements where additional vehicles will go. Nevertheless, according to Chirila, the number of passengers has been decreasing in the last years.
In 2019, the Easter is celebrated on 28 April. On this occasion, the public sector employees will have a mini-vacation of five days.
