A cultural event dedicated to Mărțișor holiday took place in Baku, where Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi met with members of the Moldovan diaspora in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the dialogue with representatives of the Moldovan community, Minister Mihai Popșoi presented the main developments in the Republic of Moldova and the progress made on the country’s European agenda. The official also highlighted the good integration of Moldovans into the social life of the host state and the role of the diaspora in promoting the image of the Republic of Moldova abroad.

The event’s agenda included a recital of traditional poems and songs, as well as a children’s workshop dedicated to making handicraft.

According to the minister, such cultural initiatives help promote traditions, preserve cultural identity, and strengthen ties between the diaspora and the Republic of Moldova.

Popșoi paid a working visit to Baku on Friday at the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov. The program included meetings with several officials from Azerbaijan, including President Ilham Aliyev.
