
Pupils of ethnic minorities can participate in contest of essays launched by Moldova's Education and Research Ministry
Pupils from ethnic minorities’ groups from educational institutions where subjects are taught in other languages or those or in Romanian can participate in an contest of essays launched by the Ministry of Education and Research, in order to promote the languages of ethnic minorities.
The subject of the first edition of the contest is, Our Home - Moldova. To participate, pupils must write an essay in their native language about the specifics of their mother tongue, history, traditions and culture, as well as how they contribute to enriching the cultural space of Moldova.
To register for the contest, students must send an application for participation by October 15, 2025.
All essays must be submitted by October 24, 2025, to the following Language Centers: Ukrainian language: iunyi.doslidnic1@gmail.com, coordinator Diana Ignatenco; Bulgarian language: mlizsledovatel.be@gmail.com, coordinator Donca Nikolova; Russian language: tibuliscaiavalea@rambler.ru; coordinator Valentina Țibulschaia; Gagauz language and the multilingual section (languages of other ethnic minorities in the Republic of Moldova): tanarulcercetator@gmail.com, coordinator Maria Uzun.
Materials sent after the deadline will not be accepted. Each participant is allowed to participate in only one ethnic category of the Contest.
The awarding of winners and participants will take place on February 21, 2026, on International Mother Language Day.
