Update on situation in Middle East: 33 Moldovans returned to Chișinău from Dubai

On the afternoon of March 8, 33 citizens of the Republic of Moldova, including persons with dual citizenship, arrived in Chișinău on a flight operating the Dubai–Chișinău route, announced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova.

According to the ministry, the Crisis Cell continues to monitor security developments in the Middle East through the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova in the region and provides consular assistance to Moldovan citizens located in the countries concerned.

In the United Arab Emirates the overall situation remains without major changes. Local authorities continue to monitor the security situation, and public services and infrastructure are operating normally. However, certain restrictions on commercial flights remain in place. The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Abu Dhabi maintains contact with local authorities and is analyzing available options for Moldovan citizens who wish to leave the region.

In Israel, the situation remains largely unchanged, and the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova continues to monitor developments and provide consular support to citizens in that country. A similar situation is reported in Qatar, where the embassy in Doha is handling requests for information and consular assistance from Moldovan citizens. The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Ankara is also monitoring regional developments and maintaining contact with Moldovan citizens in the states to which it is accredited, including Turkey.

At the same time, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Baku is following security developments in Iran and remains in contact with the competent authorities and diplomatic partners to assess the situation.

The authorities recommend that citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the region follow the instructions of local authorities and check the official pages of Moldovan diplomatic missions to receive up-to-date information.
