National football team defeated Faroe Islands

Chisinau, 11 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Last night, the national team of the Republic of Moldova defeated the team of the Faroe Islands 1-0, in a group "E" qualifying match for the European Football Championship, due in Germany in 2024.

Moldova climbed to second place in the ranking with 8 points, tied with the group leader, the Czech Republic.

"For the first time, Moldova has a real chance for a historic qualification to a major final tournament," the Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) said.
