PM leads Moldova's delegation at intergovernmental conference on launch of negotiations on accession to EU

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean will pay a working visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on 24-26 June. The PM will lead Moldova’s delegation to the first meeting of the Moldova-European Union intergovernmental commission, during which the negotiations on accession to EU will be officially launched.     

The prime minister will discuss the bilateral and European agenda of Moldova with more Luxembourg officials. PM Dorin Recean will have meetings with Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luc Frieden, Grand Duke of Luxembourg Henri de Luxembourg, as well as Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Cooperate and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel.       

The prime minister will also meet European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi and Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna.    

In 25 June evening, the Moldova-European Union Intergovernmental Conference on the official launch of the country’s integration in EU will be held. The event will be followed by a news conference, given by representatives of the current  Presidency of the European Council and the European Commission, which will be broadcast online on the government’s Facebook page.     

The delegation is made up of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, chief negotiator Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy PM, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi, Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Deputy PM, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea, Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru, Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun, Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu and Government’s Secretary General Artur Mija.
