MEC published preliminary results for baccalaureate exam

Chisinau, June 27 /MOLDPRES/- Passing rate of this year's baccalaureate exam is 69.38%, which is an increase compared to last year, when it was 68 .31%. The preliminary results were displayed today in 93 centers across the country. Candidates who do not agree with the grades can file appeals.

According to the data of the Ministry of Education and Research, the baccalaureate exam was passed by 12,526 candidates, out of over 18,054 registered. The average grade of 10 in the baccalaureate exam has been obtained by 47 candidates. The graduates are from the districts/municipalities: Balti, Chisinau, Edineț, Soroca, Străseni, Ștefan Vodă, Ungheni.

The passing rate of the baccalaureate exam among high school graduates is 89.83%, compared to 87.77% in the 2023 session. Thus, out of 11,321 high school students, 10,170 passed the exam.

Out of 3,815 candidates of colleges and centers of excellence, 1,819 took the exam, the pass rate for the category is 47.68%, compared to 45.37% in the 2023 session.

The number of candidates with an average grade of 8 or higher is 3,341 (or 18.50% of the number of candidates), compared to 3,372 (or 18.33% of the number of candidates) in 2023, and 860 candidates have a higher average grade or equal to 9 (or 4.76% of the number of candidates), compared to 897 (or 4.87% of the number of candidates) in 2023.

At the same time, three candidates were eliminated from the exam for fraud.

On June 27-28, candidates can see online their verified tests and the grades assigned to each exam on www.bac.gov.md platform. 

On June 27-28, 2024, between 09:00 and 18:00, candidates who do not agree with the evaluation results can submit a request for examination of the appeal to the baccalaureate centers.

Appeals will be reviewed between June 29 and July 3, and the final results of the session will be announced on July 4, 2024.

The additional session of the national baccalaureate exam will be organized on July 15-22, 2024. To participate in the additional session, candidates can submit, on July 4 and 5, a written request to the baccalaureate centers.

At the 2024 baccalaureate session, which took place from June 4 to 21, 18,054 candidates were admitted, including 11,321 candidates of high schools, 3,815 candidates of colleges and centers of excellence, 210 candidates of universities and 2,510 arrears from previous sessions.
