Speaker congratulated Moldovan citizens on start of EU accession process

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu has congratulated Moldovan citizens on the start of the EU accession process.

"This is a long-awaited event for which a lot of work has been done in recent years. We know that there is a lot of work ahead of us, each of us will have to contribute in order to become part of the European family," Grosu said.

At the same time, he announced that the new secretary is Igor Talmazan.

On 25 June negotiations on Moldova's accession to the European Union were officially launched in Luxembourg at an intergovernmental conference. The country's delegation was led by Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The event was welcomed by European leaders who described it as of historic importance both for the Republic of Moldova and for the EU countries.
