Moldovan economy ministry: USA's decision to freeze customs tariffs for 90 days concerns Moldova too

The decision announced by the U.S. President to freeze customs tariffs at 10 per cent for a period of 90 days concerns Moldova too. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED) has made statements to this effect.

“The U.S. President announced that he had frozen all tariffs at 10 per cent for a period of 90 days. The measure also targets Moldova,” MDED informed.

Last week, the United States announced the imposition of tariffs on 70 countries, including Moldova. At the same time, U.S. President Donald Trump on 9 April said that he had authorized a 90-day pause in the enforcement of new taxes and ruled to reduce reciprocal tariffs to 10 per cent on this period.

MDED on 9 April held a meeting with the participation of entrepreneurs from Moldova operating on the U.S. market. The participants in the event analyzed the impact of the new U.S. tariffs, enforced globally, including on products of Moldovan origin.
