Over 500 companies receive compensation for energy; Moldovan PM says assistance to be provided throughout year

The government has transferred 24.5 million lei to the accounts of 556 companies as compensation for electricity consumed in January, February, and partially March 2025. According to Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the compensations will continue to be provided throughout the year, meaning lower bills, more stable businesses and protected jobs.

‘’This assistance is part of the government's effort to support citizens and the business environment. Compensations will continue to be offered throughout the year from the energy package provided by the European Union - meaning lower invoices, more stable businesses and protected jobs,’’ the prime minister said.

Dorin Recean added that, in parallel, the government continued to support local businesses to invest and contribute to economic development.

The PM gave the example of Program 373, through which 891 loans were provided to 663 companies across the country. The total value of the loans reached 2.73 billion lei, generating investments of over 4 billion lei.

‘’This means 10,000 jobs here at home, investments in products with value added and energy independence,’’ the prime minister added.

The compensation programme for the increase in electricity prices for enterprises has a total budget of 300 million lei – funds due to be provided by the European Union. Requests for energy compensation can be submitted online by entrepreneurs through the EVO application or on the MCabinet portal, where a new module - compensations - is available. After submitting the application, applicants can check its status, from submission to approval and payment.
