Moldova strengthens relations with France in EU accession
Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is in Paris this week, at the invitation of French EU Minister Benjamin Haddad. Officials discussed the progress made by Moldova in joining the European Union and the next steps on the European agenda.
Cristina Gherasimov highlighted Moldova's interest in adopting from France's experience in the modernization and consolidation of state institutions.
'We discussed the progress and next steps on our European agenda, as well as what we can learn from France's experience in modernizing and strengthening state institutions,' said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Gherasimov emphasized the importance of support provided by France in numerous areas.
'France is one of Moldova's best friends and a reliable partner on our path to the EU,' the official said.
Gherasimov's visit to Paris is part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations with EU member states and speed up Moldova's European integration.
