Moldovan government launches 3rd edition of Public Nursery Services – Employed Parents, Children in Nurseries National Programme
The government will allocate 385.7 million lei for the expansion of nurseries in the years 2026-2027. Thus, up to 5,000 nursery places will be created, the expansion of existing groups will be funded, and new groups will be created, including the construction of annexes. The launch of the new call for proposals within the National Programme, Public Nursery Services – Employed Parents, Children in Nurseries, was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru.
From the total amount of 385.7 million lei, 136.6 million lei is allocated for the year 2026, and 249.1 million lei for the year 2027. Projects’ budgets will vary between 1.5 to 10 million lei per project, depending on the scale of intervention. Eligible local public authorities can consult the participation conditions in the competition in the Application guide.
The call is open starting today, December 17, for 60 calendar days, until February 14, 2026. Local public authorities of level I, including the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti, with a population of over 3,000 inhabitants, can apply for the programme. A local public authority can apply for more nurseries with separate funding requests.
The National Programme, Public Nursery Services – Employed Parents, Children in Nursery, is part of the Reform Agenda of Moldova's Growth Plan for the years 2025–2027. The programme supports the balance between family life and career, helping parents return to the workforce.
